ENG 103: Rhetoric & Writing

ENG 103, Rhetoric and Writing, is a prerequisite for ENG 104.  Some students take 101 and 102, which is equivalent to 103. Some students earn admittance directly into 104 because of AP classes or transfer credits .

If you took 101 and 102, or 103 here at Ball State, it is worth reviewing the material here to check your recall because your ENG 104 instructors will expect you to enter the course with these foundations.

If you did not take a writing course at Ball State prior to entry into ENG 104, then such review is even more helpful for you.  While your previous coursework was equivalent, it may well be that the course emphasized different aspects of rhetoric and writing than what we emphasize here at Ball State.

So take a look at the material below.  Test yourself to see what you recall and understand.  Take the time to review material as needed so you can hit the ground running from Day 1 of ENG 104.
